Jeonju iwi chingoo
Our friends from Jeonju, Korea head back home.
Last Friday night we had a farewell for a Korean couple in our congregation at a Korean BBQ Restaurant called 'Sunshine Restaurant'. We had a great time and there was about 25+ that came along.
It doesn't matter how many times I farewell someone I never really get used to it. This couple, Songwan and Songhi, were always out in the ministry,
were a real delight to be around and helped me to improve my Korean
language skills! I have set a goal, though, to one day visit them and
the Hite factory in Jeonju one day.

Google's Intewface Wanguage
Have you ever tried changing your 'Google Preferences'?
My respect for Google as an organisation has been slowly increasing bit-by-bit. What with their 'Summer of Code' initiative to support open source software development, it's really good to see a big IT corporate get in behind open source (I suppose it isn't surprising as they already use python extensively). Further, something that indicated to me today that they have a sense of humour was the languages they have listed in the 'Interface Language' option inside 'Preferences'. Some of the funnier options were 'Hacker', 'Klingon', 'Elmer Fudd', and 'Bowk, bowk, bowk!'. Though, keeping it on these settings can make Google a little harder to use ;-)

Discussin' the Weather
Why is the weather a topic of hot interest down our end of the country?
How
about some anecdotal evidence? When I am out witnessing my lips are so
numb from the cold that I find trouble speaking. Last Thursday, after
opening the shower window to let out some of the moisture, the steam
that had condensed and formed into droplets on the window froze before
it had an opportunity to drop onto the ground! When the wind is cutting
through you like a knife, would you find it easy to think about
anything else? ;-)
On a more positive note, Miho, our friend Mariko and myself went to a Danish bakery today called Copenhagen Bakery
and were greeted with a taste sensation. I had a Steak & Cheese pie
and a Mixed Berry pie and Miho and Mariko had a Panini each. If you're
a local and haven't been yet, I'd highly recommend it.

Roaming Bookmarks
"The force of Plone + Firefox is strong with this one"
I installed TastyBookmarks 1.5, which according to the project homepage is a online bookmark management tool, much like del.icio.us. When this product is combined with the Firefox Bookmarks Synchronizer it has the wonderful benefit of allowing you to 'roam' from computer-to-computer and have your browser bookmarks follow you. Here are some caveats I found while setting this up on my site.
- The link to the Bookmarks Synchronizer product in Nan's README.txt is incorrect. The correct link is here.
- I had to manually type 'upload_xbel_form' at the end of my TastyBookmarks folder url to view the xbel import form as there wasn't a visible link to it.
P.S. Just as an aside, as I was contemplating an appropriate description for this post I recalled a TV show I really liked when I was young called 'The Littlest Hobo'. It was great! Does anyone else recall this show?

Bon Voyage Les Grandus Famille
Some Canadian friends returned to Canada yesterday morning.
Our congregation had a farewell for our Canadian friends
last Saturday. Some highlights were 'St. Albans Idol', 'The Custard
Skit', and 'The Hamster Dance'. It's really sad to see them go but
we've promised to visit them in Alberta and sample their Pumpkin Pie.
